Three Days of Rain

Last Thursday it was 83 degrees and beautiful. By Saturday, it was 30 degrees colder and raining. And it rained Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Thankfully the rain let up on Sunday evening so I could get dolled up and go to the theatre. Where I saw Three Days of Rain.

Three Days of Rain is Julia Roberts’ Broadway debut. The critics have been quite unkind to her … and it is not entirely unfounded. Compared to her co-stars, Paul Rudd (Clueless) and the very fine Bradley Cooper (Will Tippin to you Alias fans), she just didn’t bring it. But I am glad I got to see it (and her). Fun facts: she had the shortest bio in the playbill, and the only shout-out (“For D.M. – my courage.”).

More entertaining was my low-budget theatre experience the night before. I went to see a little show called Mortified. Mortified, which plays in L.A., N.Y., Boston and S.F. (yo MJ!), is a show where a bunch of adults get up and read their most embarrassing teenage diary entries. Suddenly, my teenage obsession with Adam Ant doesn't seem so bad after all ...
